What is the NODI Flip?
The NODI Flip is a screen-free device built for kids ages 5 to 12. It's not a smartphone and not a tablet; it's the simple, safe alternative to both. With the Flip, your kid can:
Listen to music, audiobooks, and podcasts: your kid streams the playlists you've approved via Spotify Connect, or downloads content from the NODI Library to the device and plays it offline anywhere.
Send and receive voice messages: with friends who have a Flip, and with the adults you approve through the free NODI Parent App (iOS and Android)
Take it anywhere: offline content works everywhere with no connection at all, WiFi covers home, and built-in LTE (optional, no plan required) keeps streaming and messaging working on the go: at practice, in the car, at grandma's

What Spotify account do I need & how do I add content to the Flip?
The Flip works with any Spotify account - Free, Family, or Premium. For a completely ad-free experience, we recommend Spotify Premium.
Here's how to add content:
Open the NODI Parent App on your phone while the Flip and phone are on the same WiFi network
Browse our curated library or select any playlists, albums, or podcasts directly from the Spotify app.
Tap '+' in the NODI Parent App - done!
Your child can now play the content on the Flip.
Can I use Audible, Libby, or other audio services?
Right now the Flip works with Spotify, which has the best library of kids' content, plus our own NODI Library of audiobooks, stories and learning content. More content sources are planned right after launch. Libby is one of our most-requested features and it's genuinely on the product team's list, but we won't promise a date we can't keep.
How do voice messages work?
Voice messages don't use traditional phone numbers or messengers — they're exchanged directly between Flip devices and the NODI App (available for iOS and Android).
In the Parent App, you manage contacts and decide who your child can communicate with.
Your child can send and receive voice messages from anyone who has a NODI Flip or the NODI App installed, as long as you've given them permission.
Does the Flip work offline? Do I need WiFi or a SIM card?
Setup needs WiFi once. After that, anything you've downloaded from the NODI Library (audiobooks, stories, learning content) plays anywhere with no connection at all. Spotify streaming and voice messages need internet: your home WiFi, your phone's hotspot, or LTE.
LTE is optional and off by default. No data plan, no subscription, ever. When you want it, the Flip has a built-in eSIM and a nano SIM slot: activate NODI Connect in the app, or use a nano SIM from any carrier.

Can I connect headphones?
Yes. The Flip has a built-in speaker, and connects to headphones via Bluetooth or USB-C, plus 3.5mm with an adapter. Handy for car trips, planes, and quiet time in a shared room.
How do you protect my child's data?
Data privacy is our top priority. The Flip uses encrypted connections and complies with current COPPA and cybersecurity regulations. Only parent-approved contacts and audio content are accessible, and parents have full control at all times.
Is there a tracking feature?
The Flip itself focuses on what matters most: screen-free entertainment, communication, and learning. For parents who want location tracking, we're offering an optional tracking lanyard that works with Apple's Find My network on iOS and Google’s Find Hub on Android, so you can locate the Flip anytime.
